Koombahla Vineyard Whitfield 

The Koombahla vineyard sits at around 350m above sea level in the Victorian Alps. Snow-capped for much of the year and during the warmer months, gravity pulls these cool breezes down onto these volcanic soils on the valley floor. This provides perfect conditions for Aligoté & Gamay. We have the following wines.

2023 Terrason Gamay

Another good year for Gamay. A low yield year which reduced the amount of fruit by about 40%. 100% Whole bunch cold semi-carbonic maceration, then made more traditionally. Spent around two weeks in cuve. Pressed to old French oak, spending ten months slowly maturing. It felt like one of the coldest winters I can remember so no barrels went through malo until  December. Some SO2 a week before bottling was the only addition made.
